Meet Vicki Benson

Background

Vicki's roots are deep in Northeast Missouri. Raised in Kirksville Suburbia, Vicki grew up on a farm just outside LaPlata. She and her husband now own and maintain that same farm which she still calls home. Graduating from LaPlata High School in 1983, Vicki moved to Kirksville to attend Northeast Missouri State University (now Truman State University) before going to work in the Kirksville business community and while making Kirksville her new home. In 1989 Vicki became licensed in real estate and began her new career with Heritage House Realty and Ken Read, well known Broker and Developer. Vicki has remained with Ken Read full time since, and is getting ready to celebrate her 20th year in the business.

Community/Professional

Vicki believes in commitment to her community. Volunteering where necessary and whenever possible, Vicki is particularly committed to helping the others less fortunate, the elderly and children in need.

Vicki is a member of Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Kirksville and Co-founder of the Mary Immaculate Catholic Education Foundation, Inc. and serves on its Board of Directors. Vicki has served on Mary Immaculate's Parish Council and is especially committed to her church and school.

Vicki serves as an Ambassador for the Kirksville Chamber of Commerce and is a member of K-REDI, Inc., a local organization designed to enhance economic development and industry for our community.

Vicki has sponsored little league baseball/softball and YMCA youth sports, and is an avid and continuous supporter of many non-for-profit organizations, both local and abroad.

Vested in her community, Vicki and her husband Jay, a Kirksville Attorney, own and operate a properties rental business (d/b/a Benson Properties) specializing in rental housing for local college students, medical students and area families. Benson Properties and Vicki's real estate sales practice excel with the help of Vicki's full-time Assistant, Megan Ingersoll-Roof. Megan, a licensed real estate agent, graduated in May of 2007 from Truman State University. Megan's presence offers an effective team approach for Vicki, as well as her customers and clients.

Vicki and her family live just outside of Kirksville, with her best endeavor yet, her two children, now ages 13 and 11.
